The HOPWA (Housing Opportunities for persons with AIDS) HUD program was established to specifically address the housing needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families. The purpose of the HOPWA Grant is to promote decent affordable housing, to maintain stable housing, to reduce the risk of homelessness, and to provide supportive services to those who qualify with a HIV/AIDS diagnosis and low income verification.
